Abstract

This study appears to survey the construction of meaning in the poem collection "Ma Aqalla Habibati' by Rashid Issa through an examination of manifestations of water in the collection. It also analyses the moral, sensorial, taste and intellectual reactions they constitute in their persistence to surface and to dominate the system of meanings and significances in the collection, especially that this collection represents, according to me, a prominent example of the investment of water and its manifestations in the poetic experience of Rashid Issa. The study that initially surveys the phenomenon statistically and then looks at the living and poetic experience of Rashid Issa examines the image of Mana, the mythic woman of water, the water threshold of its name, and the ramifications of the significance of water. It also studies time's proclivity towards water, the confusing of location with it and its presence [location] in its absence [water]. The study concludes that Rashid Issa invested in manifestations of water in the composition of his meanings, the production of his images, and expression of its poetic state with such seriousness and diversity that I call it a qualitative addition to the structure of the modern poem. Significant words: Modern Arab poetry by Rashid Issa. Collection: "Ma aqalla Habibati". Composition of meaning. Manifestions of water.
