AbstractThe study aimed to study the impact of urbanization on agricultural land in the city of Salt during the three periods of the study. The study reached a number of results, most notably: the percentage of residential land area in the city of Salt in 1980 was 11.56% of the city area, and the proportion of agricultural land was 88.44% of the total area of the city and in 2015 the urban areas (residential) constituted (67%) The total area of the city of Salt, which contributed to the decline and decline of agricultural areas until it reached (19%) of the total area of the city of Salt and in 2000, residential land (25%) and was heavily concentrated in the center of the city while the distant neighborhoods About the city center has a very small population compared to the city center, including the neighborhood of Al-Mzwad The annexation of the population reached (880 people). It also concluded that there is an impact of urbanization on the agricultural production in that it reduced the yield of the agriculture issued in the study area because of the tendency to residential use at the expense of agricultural use and this led to alleviate the agricultural economic aspect in the city of Salt. The study recommended the need to issue laws and legislation through which the urban landscape of the city is unified, through the existence of specific criteria such as prohibiting urban development at the expense of agricultural land, and in natural areas such as: forests and valleys to ensure the reduction of environmental pollution, in addition to the need to change the uses of land that increases Slope to 35% to become recreational uses. With the need to direct the urban growth of the city to the appropriate areas and stop the urban sprawl at the expense of agricultural land.
