Dr. Yazan Bashir Jarar is a pharmacist passionate about advancing the field of pharmacogenetics and personalized medicine. His research interests focus on unraveling the complexities of drug-metabolizing enzymes through pharmacogenomics, contributing to a better understanding of individual drug responses.
Committed to academic excellence, Dr. Jarar has received numerous honors, including the Best Abstract Award at the Golden Helix seminars and the First Prize for Outstanding Oral Presentation at the University of Inje. In addition to his academic achievements, he actively teaches a variety of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
As a supervisor of graduate research, he has overseen diverse projects exploring genetic variations, drug effects, and gene expression complexities. Dr. Jarar’s dedication to advancing scientific knowledge is also reflected in his active participation in organizing international conferences and scientific meetings. Through grants and research projects, he continues to investigate critical areas such as cardiotoxicity mechanisms, DNA methylation in breast cancer, and the effects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on gene expression.
