Prof. Jamal Zaid Kielani

Dr. Jamal Ahmad Zaid Al-Kilani is a distinguished scholar in Comparative Islamic Jurisprudence, specializing in contemporary Islamic financial transactions. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Jurisprudence from the University of the Holy Quran, Khartoum, and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Jordan, Faculty of Sharia. Dr. Al-Kilani has been a faculty member at An-Najah National University since 1994, teaching in the Departments of Islamic Banking and Fiqh and Legislation, and supervising dozens of Master’s theses in contemporary financial transactions, Islamic economics, and criminal jurisprudence.

He has held multiple leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Chair of the Departments of Islamic Banking and Fiqh and Legislation, and Chair of the joint Ph.D. program in Fiqh and its Principles across three Palestinian universities. Beyond the university, he serves as a member of the Higher Fatwa Council in Palestine and as Chair of the Shari’a Supervisory Board of the Arab Islamic Bank. He also leads charitable and educational initiatives, including the care of Quran memorization centers and the Association for the Blind in Nablus.

Dr. Al-Kilani has published extensively in Arabic and international peer-reviewed journals and authored numerous books on Islamic finance and jurisprudence. He is actively involved in academic committees, conference organization, curriculum development, and community service, making him a leading figure in Islamic legal and financial scholarship in Palestine.
