Abstract

The goal of this study is to identify the impact of the enrollment in kindergarten for children for the development of both reading and writing skills to students of the Basic School in Jordan. The sample of the study is consisted of randomly selected (90) students of the three basic classrooms from school (Basic Umm Habiba) that chosen as the intentional, by (30) students from each classroom of the three classrooms, (15) students who have already enrolled in kindergarten for children and (15) students who have not enrolled in kindergarten for children. The researcher developed a test for the performance of reading and another for the written test. Using the (t-test) for independent samples that the results showed no statistically significant mean differences at the level (α=0.05) between the mean of students who were enrolled in kindergartens for children and who were not enrolled in kindergartens for children in both reading and writing skills for the three grades. The study recommends training kindergarten teachers, and raising their awareness on the demands of the first grade, to help on the student’s preparation for school enrolment.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرّف إلى أثر الالتحاق بمرحلة رياض الأطفال أو عدمه في تنمية مهارتي القراءة الجهرية والكتابة لدى طالبات المرحلة الأساسية الدنيا في الأردن. تكونت عينة الدراسة التي اختيرت عشوائياً من (90) طالبة من طالبات الصفوف الأساسية الثلاثة الدنيا من مدرسة (أم حبيبة الأساسية) التي اختيرت قصدياً، بواقع (30) طالبة من كل صف من الصفوف الثلاثة، (15) طالبة ممن سبق وأن التحقن برياض الأطفال و(15) طالبة ممن لم يلتحقن برياض الأطفال. أعد الباحث اختباراً للأداء القرائي وآخر للاختبار الكتابي. وباستخدام الاختبار التائي (t-test) للعينات المستقلة أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً عند مستوى (a= 0.05) بين متوسطات درجات الطالبات اللائي التحقن برياض الأطفال واللائي لم يلتحقن برياض الأطفال في مهارتي القراءة الجهرية والكتابة للصفوف الثلاثة. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج أوصت الدراسة بضرورة تأهيل معلمات رياض الأطفال تأهيلاً تربوياً خاصاً، وإعداد البرامج التدريبية والدورات المناسبة، وتوعية معلمات رياض الأطفال بمتطلبات الصف الأول حتى يساعدن في تهيئة الطفل للحياة المدرسية.
