Abstract

This study aimed to investigatethe effect of an educational program in writing on improving writing skills among eighth female students. A list containing four major composing writing skills (selecting suitable words, constructing sentences and linguistic patterns, constructing a good paragraph, & constructing the subject and weaving it) was prepared. An evaluating criterion based on the mentioned skills was developed to evaluate the participants’ written works produced by them after applying the composing writing test which was designed for the purpose of this study. The sample of the study consisted of (68) female students (two sections). One section was selected randomly to be assigned the suggested educational program, and served as the Experimental group, whereas, the other one was assigned the traditional method of teaching writing and served as the Controlled group. The results of the statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference in the post-test scores on the composing writing skills of the two groups, for the benefit of the Experimental group that was taught according to the suggested program. The results of one- way MANOVA revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the means of the two groups on two major composing skills (constructing a good paragraph & constructing the subject and weaving it). But there were no statistically significant differences between the means of the two groups in the other two composing skills (selecting suitable words & constructing sentences and linguistic patterns).

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن أثر برنامج تعليميّ في الكتابة؛ لتحسين مهارات التأليف لدى طالبات الصف الثامن الأساسي. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة، أُعدّت قائمة اشتملت على مهارات التأليف الرئيسة الأربع (انتقاء الألفاظ المناسبة، وبناء الفقرة الجيدة، وبناء الجمل والتراكيب اللغوية، وبناء الموضوع وحَبْكه). واستنادًا إلى المهارات المذكورة، جرى تصميم معيار تقويم الأعمال الكتابية التي أنتجتها الطالبات (أفراد الدراسة) بعد خضوعهنّ لاختبار التأليف في الكتابة الذي أُعدّ لأغراض الدراسة. تكوّن أفراد الدراسة من (68) طالبة، بواقع شعبتين، جرى اختيارهما عشوائيًّا من بين شعب الصف الثامن الأساسي في مدرسة رفيدة الأسلمية، في منطقة إربد الأولى للعام الدراسي (2011/2012). واختيرت إحدى الشعب عشوائيًا لتمثل المجموعة التجريبية التي جرى تطبيق البرنامج التعليمي المقترح عليها؛ في حين عُدّت الشعبة الثانية هي المجموعة الضابطة التي درست الكتابة باستخدام الطريقة التقليدية. وأظهرت نتائج التحليلات الإحصائية وجود فرق ذي دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة على أدائهنّ في اختبار التأليف البعدي، لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. وكشفت نتائج تحليل التباين الأحادي المتعدّد وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًّا بين متوسطات المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في مهارتي: بناء الفقرة الجيدة، وبناء الموضوع وحَبْكه، لصالح المجموعة التجريبية؛ لكنّ نتائج التحليل لم تُظهر فروقًا ذات دلالة إحصائيّة بين متوسطات المجموعتين في مهارتي: انتقاء الألفاظ المناسبة، وبناء الجمل والتراكيب اللغويّة.
