Abstract

The major purpose of this study was to construct test battery to assess overall motor ability and performance of female students at lower basic stage in order to establish norms and standards to the first three grades (1st, 2nd and 3rd grades). The sample of the study was (N=400) female students, chosen by using stratified random sample, and ranging in age from (6-9) years. The results of the study revealed the followings: The factor analysis technique which was utilized on the (18) motor ability tests clarified that, there were four major components (factors) appeared to be most important. The first factor was agility (measured by zigzag run). The second factor was composed of both balance and coordination (measured by one foot stand on the parallel bar). The third factor was speed (measured by 30-meters-dash run). The fourth factor was muscular power (measured by stand long jump for longer distance). The researcher recommended that the achieved test battery and its standardization for female school pupils motor ability would help in the processes of measurement and evaluation in physical education, as well as serve in classification, guidance, and predicate
