Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the following: To determine the stages of sport selection of Gymnastics beginners. To determine the measurements which are important in the selection of beginners, the tests which are chosen for measurement. According to the survey of related literature to the field of sport selection the researcher found that all researchers agree that the selection in sports have three stages which are: General stage. Specific stage. Long duration stage. Furthermore, the researcher found that each stage has special characteristics, and sport trainers must pay careful attention to different measurements of each stage. These measurements are: Anthrometric, physiological, physical, technical, and psychological measures.
