    Prof. Sweileh holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Yarmouk University (Jordan) in 1986, and a Masters and PhD in Pharmacology from Northeastern University in Boston, USA. Prof. Sweileh was the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Dean of Scientific Research at An-Najah National University, and the head of accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission in Palestine. During his academic career, Prof. Sweileh has published more than 250 papers in the field of medical and health sciences and in international and specialized journals.   • Dr. Ismail Badran
    Dr. Ismail Badran, Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry, An-Najah National University, Palestine, [email protected]

    Dr. Badran holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Calgary, Canada (2014). With teaching experience in Palestine, Canada, and the Arabian Gulf, he has developed a unique teaching philosophy that prioritizes active student learning. Dr. Badran boasts over 30 peer- reviewed journal articles and active participation in international conferences. His research centers on reaction mechanisms, chemical kinetics, and utilizes theoretical quantum calculations. Recent projects focus on innovative methods for wastewater treatment, oil upgrading, and methane conversion. Dr. Badran is committed to producing intellectually valuable work with practical applications, evident in his impactful peer-reviewed publications, guidance of graduate students, university grants, and extensive teaching experience.

  • Dr. Abdelrahman EID
    Dr. Abdelrahman EID, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science Director of Data Science, An-Najah Innovation Park , An-Najah National University, Palestine

    Dr. Abdelrahman Eid is an Assistant Professor of Data Science at An-Najah National University, holding a PhD in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning from the University of Lille, France.
    With over a decade of international academic experience in Palestine, Jordan and France, he has taught a wide range of courses, from introductory to advanced levels, at both undergraduate and graduate programs.
    Dr. Eid’s research focuses on computational statistics, machine learning, and data science, with applications in environmental monitoring, healthcare, and finance. He has led and participated in projects on time-series analysis, spatial statistics, and the theory of machine learning as well as multidisciplinary projects, publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
    At An-Najah Innovation Park, Dr. Eid is the director of data science which provides services for academia and industry, fostering collaboration and advancing practical applications. He also contributes to the Department of World University Rankings, working to enhance academic visibility and performance. Additionally, Dr. Eid has extensive experience in strategic planning and curriculum development and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the An-Najah Journal for Natural Sciences.

  • Dr. Adel "Mohammad Saeed" Juaidi
    Dr. Adel "Mohammad Saeed" Juaidi, Associate Professor-Renewable Energy and Sustainability Engineering. An-Najah National University, Palestine, [email protected]

    Dr. Juaidi is an Associate Professor of Renewable Energy. Dr. Juaidi has completed his Ph.D. in Engineering (Renewable Energy and Sustainability) in 2017 at University of Almeria, Spain. During his stay at the Plataforma Solar de Almeria (PSA), which belongs to the Centro de Investigaciones Energeticas Mediosmbientsles y Tecnologicss (CIEMAT) in Madrid, Spain- the largest European center for research, development and testing of concentrating solar technologies, he was assigned to conduct research in the Solar Reflectors Durability Laboratories. He worked on the research topic entitled "Degradation of solar concentrator power plants due to radiation under accelerated conditions". He had before a Master of Water and Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
    Dr. Juaidi specializes in the broad area of thermal sciences. His main expertise is in the fields of energy systems, energy in buildings, renewable energy in development and sustainability, energy and environment, energy policy, solar energy, and green buildings.He has authored and co-authored over 68 publications in a variety of academic outlets, including journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Juaidi is also a reviewer for different international journals and a member of scientific committees for different conferences.

  • Dr. Jihad Abdallah
    Dr. Jihad Abdallah, Department of Animal Production & Animal Health/ Faculty of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine An-Najah National University, Palestine, [email protected]

    Dr. Abdallah was born in Nablus, Palestine on February 3, 1969. He finished high school in 1987. He obtained BSc. degree in Animal Production from An- Najah University (Nablus, Palestine) in 1994. He earned a DESS from CIRAD- EMVT (Montpelier, France) in 1997. He completed his Ph.D. in Animal Breeding with a Minor in Statistics at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, USA) in 2001. After a post-doctoral research experience (2001-2006) at the French National Agricultural Institute (INRA, Toulouse France) working on linkage disequilibrium gene mapping, he joined An-Najah University as a faculty member in 2007. Besides teaching and research, the positions he filled at An- Najah University included head of department and coordinator of two master programs. Dr Abdallah has expertise in animal genetics and statistical analysis and published research in cooperation with other researchers in both the agricultural sand the medical fields.

  • Prof. Sameer Shadeed
    Prof. Sameer Shadeed, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, An-Najah National University, Palestine, [email protected]

    Since 2008, Prof. Shadeed has been an active researcher and lecturer specializing in water resources modeling and management. He has participated/led various research projects funded by different international agencies, including hydrological modeling, rainwater harvesting, climate change, water quality, agricultural best management practices, and climate-smart agriculture.
    Additionally, he has supervised numerous graduate students in the fields of water and environmental engineering, as well as environmental sciences. His teaching portfolio encompasses both graduate and undergraduate courses, focusing on water resource quantity and quality, hydrological processes and systems, natural resource management, soil-water-plant interactions, irrigation and drainage, and geographic information systems (GIS). Moreover, Prof. Shadeed has several published articles in highly reputable journals. Finally, he has worked as an independent freelance consultant for numerous national and international consulting firms in the areas of water, environment, and strategic planning.

  • Dr. Ahed Zyoud

    Dr. Ahed Zyoud, a Palestinian academic born on August 6, 1973, in Silet Al-Harthia, is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry at An-Najah National University, Palestine. He earned his Ph.D. in Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry from An-Najah National University, focusing on nanomaterials and their application in water purification and the development of thin-film solar cells.
    Dr. Zyoud has extensive teaching and research experience, specializing in photocatalysis, nanotechnology, and environmental chemistry. He has supervised and examined over 60 postgraduate theses and published numerous peer-reviewed articles. His contributions to science include active participation in local and international workshops and conferences.

  • Dr. Abdelhaleem Khader
    Dr. Abdelhaleem Khader, Associate Professor in Environmental Engineering and Assistant Dean of Scientific Research

    Dr. Khader has received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from An-Najah National University in 2004 and his M.S. in Water and Environmental Engineering from An-Najah National University in 2007, and his Ph.D. degree from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, USA in 2012. He has been at An-Najah since the fall of 2013, prior to that he was a postdoctoral fellow at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from 2012 to 2013, and a site engineer at An-Najah National University from 2004 to 2007. His recent research interests center around characterization of urban air quality using low-cost sensors and car emissions. Dr. Khader’s expertise includes air quality monitoring, solid waste management, groundwater quality monitoring network design, and hydrological modeling.   • Dr. Ghaleb Mohammad Adwan

    Prof. Adwan has obtained his BSc degree in Medical Technology/1987; MSc degree in Immunology and Parasitology/Biology Department/1990, from Yarmouk University-Jordan; PhD in Molecular Microbiology/Virology/Faculty of Medicine/Aristotle University/Thessaloniki-Greece/1999. Prof. Adwan taught as a part-time lecturer in different universities in Jordan and Palestine. He started working at An-Najah National University since 2001. Prof. Adwan works in a various research field in bacteria, viruses, parasites, medicinal plants and bioinformatics. Published approximately 90 research papers in various international journals. He has broad practical experience in molecular biology, immunology and serology, biochemistry, animal cell culture and virus isolation and microbial techniques. He represents An-Najah University in the European project MediLabSecure. In addition, he has deposited a large number of DNA sequences in the GenBank. Furthermore, Prof. Adwan supervised a large number of graduate students, and served as an internal and external examiner for many graduate students’ theses. He is responsible for establishing the PhD program in Biotechnology and Molecular Genetics in coordination with the College of Graduate Studies.

  • Dr. Muna Hajjyahya

    Dr. Muna Hajj Yahya is an outstanding academic and researcher in the fields of physics and electronics engineering. She was born in Tulkarem on March 1, 1986, and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Physics from An-Najah National University in 2008. She then continued her studies abroad, earning a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in Italy in 2012, and later completed her Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the same university in 2015. Since 2015, Dr. Muna has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at An-Najah National University. Her research focuses on microwave radiation and the study of material properties in the field of nanotechnology. She has published numerous research papers in this field and serves as a reviewer for various scientific papers in her area of expertise. Dr. Muna is also a member of the An-Najah Journal of Natural Sciences for the years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. She actively supervises graduate students in the Department of Physics, providing them with a scientific research environment through her specialized research laboratory. Additionally, she is an active member of several academic and administrative committees at the university, including the University's Strategic Planning Committee, where she contributed to the development and implementation of the strategic plan. She is also responsible for coordinating between the Ministry of Education and the university and has played a key role in the Palestine Science and Technology Fairs, overseeing the judging process for these fairs for the past five years. Dr. Muna is also a strong supporter of student and community activities at the university, working to enhance the academic environment through her diverse initiatives that benefit both the university and the Palestinian community.

  • Prof. Mazen Khaled

    Professor Khaled has obtained his BSc in Chemistry (1987) from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Alabama in 1992. He did his first post doctorate year 1992-1993 at Denver University studying fullerenes using Electrochemical and EPR techniques, and his second post doctorate year at North Carolina State University 1993- 1994 developing very fast voltammetry. In 1994 he joined King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals until 2019 and then joined Qatar University in August 2019. In 2007, he was appointed as the first interim director to establish the first Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology at KFUPM. Prof. Khaled main interest is in surface modification and its application in corrosion, electrochemical conversion of CO2, membrane coatings, dust repellent coatings for solar panels, etc. He published more than 100 papers and awarded twenty-seven patents. He published many papers in the field of corrosion protection and membrane coatings utilizing different techniques. Dr. Khaled was the LPI/PI of 15 research projects, and supervised/participate in supervision of 25 MS/PhD students from the Departments of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences. Currently he is a member of a 5M USD Cluster funded project by QNRF to develop electrodes for the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to formic acid.
