Editorial Policies

The Editor-in-Chief of the journal is the Dean of Scientific Research at An-Najah National University. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for conducting the initial evaluation of submitted manuscripts before they proceed to the double-blind peer review process. This initial evaluation is based solely on scientific merit, irrespective of any non-scientific considerations.

The final decision on a manuscript is made by the editorial board, based on the evaluations of field experts. The Editor-in-Chief does not have the authority to accept or reject a manuscript without the editorial board’s approval.

An-Najah University Journal for Research - A (Natural Sciences) requires that each article undergoes review by at least two independent reviewers.

A general editorial policy of An-Najah journals is to limit publications by editorial members. Specifically, research papers with at least one author serving as an editor, editorial board member, or reviewer should not exceed 20% of published papers per year.

Special Issues

Our editorial policy ensures that:

• The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the content of the entire journal, including all special issues, which must align with the journal's scope.
• Special issue articles undergo the same editorial oversight as regular submissions, including external peer review, and must be clearly labeled as part of a special issue.
• The journal verifies and approves the credentials of guest editors.
• The Editor-in-Chief or designated board members oversee guest editors to maintain editorial integrity.
• Any papers submitted to a special issue by the guest editor(s) must be subject to an independent review process and should not exceed 10% of the total papers in the special issue.
