Abstract
Originally, words in the Arabic language are singular dual or plural .yet, there are some words where the singular and the plural are just the same and they cannot be identified except within context. Such words can be infinitives, adjectives, inflective or non-inflective nouns, in addition to some verbs. The research investigated this phenomenon by means of identifying the listed words in Ibn Manthour's "Lisan Al-Arab" as one of the genuine Arabic language sources.
