Abstract
The study aimed at investigating the Impact of integrating thinking skills in science textbooks on achievement in science, scientific skills & decision making ability among 7th graders in Palestine. The content of two units of seventh grade science textbook was integrated with thinking skills activities based on three parts of CoRT (Cognitive Research Trust) program: Extending the field of perception, organization, and problem solving. The following research instruments were developed: a pre-knowledge test, an achievement test in sciences, scientific skills' test and decision- making ability measurement. A purposeful sample consisting of (72) female students was selected and equally distributed into two groups, one was assigned as the experimental group, and the other as the control group. The results revealed that the integration of thinking skills in science content was effective in developing 7th female students' achievement in science, scientific skills and decision- making ability. Based on these results the researcher recommended developers of science curriculum to take the study results into consideration to enrich science teaching with thinking skills.

الملخص
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقصي أثر دمج مهارات التفكير في محتوى كتب العلوم في التحصيل وتنمية المهارات العلمية والقدرة على اتخاذ القرار لدى طالبات المرحلة الأساسية العليا في فلسطين. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف، تم إثراء محتوى وحدتين من وحدات كتاب العلوم للصف السابع الأساسي بأنشطة موجهة لتعليم مهارات ثلاثة مجالات للتفكير مشتقة من برنامج CoRT هي: توسعة مجال الإدراك، التنظيم، وحل المشكلات، واختيار عينة قصدية من طالبات الصف السابع مؤلفة من (72) طالبة موزعات بالتساوي على شعبتين، إحداهما تجريبية درست المادة التعليمية المطورة والثانية ضابطة درست المحتوى نفسه بالطريقة الاعتيادية. وطورت الدراسة الأدوات البحثية الآتية: اختبار المعرفة القبلية، اختبار التحصيل البعدي في العلوم، اختبار المهارات العلمية ومقياس اتخاذ القرار. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن لدمج مهارات التفكير في محتوى كتاب العلوم أثراً فاعلاً في كل من التحصيل والمهارات العلمية والقدرة على اتخاذ القرار. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج أوصت الدراسة بضرورة أن يأخذ مطورو مناهج العلوم بنتائج الدراسة للعمل على إثراء تدريس العلوم بأنشطة موجهة لتعليم التفكير.
