Abstract

The study aimed at diagnosing the status of nine grade students’ evaluation towards their classroom environment in civic education course in the governmental schools in Ramallah Governorate for the year 2009/2010. It is to diagnose their current understanding of their class climate in five domains (satisfaction, friction, competition, difficulty, and homogeneity. In efforts to look into the validity of these hypotheses, the researcher adopted Frazer’s tool, 1993 which is called my classroom inventory (MCI. The reliability of the tool was treated in line with Cronbach – Alpha reliability technique, which was, totaled to 0.85 and also treated in line with test – retest reliability totaled to 0.87. In testing this hypothesis, the researcher has chosen a stratified random sample in a total of 373 students distributed among the student variables representing 15% of the whole population, which was 2485. Results were delineated as follows: There were significant statistical differences for the benefit of females at variables related to difficulty, friction and homogeneity while males score higher on competitive variable. Significant statistical differences were found for the benefit of village students on the variable of difficulty while city students scored higher on the variable of satisfaction while it was found that no differences were found between city and village students on variable of competition, friction and homogeneity.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تشخيص تعرف وتقييم الطلبة لبيئتهم الصفية في مادة "التربية المدنية" للصف التاسع في محافظة رام الله والبيرة، وذلك من أجل الوقوف تقييم الطلبة لبيئتهم الصفية في حمسة مجالات أساسية هي (الرضا، والاحتكاك، والتنافس، والصعوبة، والتجانس). وللإجابة عن سـؤال الدراسـة وفرضياتهـا استخـدم الباحـث أداة (Fraser, 1993)، وتسمـى My Classroom Inventory (MCI) بعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، إذ تم احتساب معامل الثبات بطريقة الاختبار وإعادة الاختبار والتي بلغت (0.87) وبطريقة كرونباخ ألفا والتي بلغت (0.85). وتم اختيار عينة الدراسة بالطريقة الطبقية العشوائية والتي بلغت (373) طالبا وطالبة موزعين على متغيرات الدراسة من مجتمع عدد أفراده بلغ (2485). وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك فروقا ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح الإناث، تعزى لمتغير الجنس على مجالات الصعوبة والاحتكاك والتجانس. كما أظهرت النتائج بأن هناك فروقا دالة لصالح الذكور على مجال الرضا. كما تبين أنه لا توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا على مجال التنافس. كما أظهرت النتائج أن هناك فروقا دالة إحصائيا لصالح طلبة القسم العلمي على مجالات التنافس والصعوبة والرضا، في حين أن الفروقات على مجالات الاحتكاك والتجانس لم تكن دالة. كما أظهرت النتائج أن هناك فروقا دالة إحصائية لصالح طلبة القرية على مجال الصعوبة، ولطلبة المدينة على مجال الرضا، في حين أنه لم تكن هناك فروقات دالة إحصائيا بين طلبة القرية والمدينة على مجالات التنافس والاحتكاك والتجانس. وقد خلصت الدراسة على عدد من التوصيات أهمها المحافظة على بيئة صفية تتسم بفهم إيجابي لمبدأ التنافس وتحقيق التوازن بين الحاجات الصفية للطالبات ومواءمة متطلبات البيئة الخارجية.
