School Health Level in Primary Schools in the State of Kuwait from Female Principals and Teachers’ Point of View

Abstract
This study aimed at recognizing the level of school health in the State of Kuwait from female principals and teachers’ point of view. The study sample was consisted of (104) female principals and (670) female teachers, who were chosen by using stratified random sample method, with a percentage of (50%) female principals, and (5%) female teachers, from the study population. The questionnaire was used to collected the study data. The findings of the study indicated that the level of the school health in the primary schools in the state of Kuwait was medium, from the female principles’ point of view. The level of the school health in the primary schools in the State of Kuwait was medium, from the female teachers’ point of view. There were no significant differences at (α < 0.05) in the level of the school health in the primary schools from the female principals point of view attributed to the academic qualification, practical experience, and supervised authority variables. There were no significant differences at (α < 0.05) in the level of the school health in the primary schools from the female teachers point of view attributed to the academic qualification and supervised authority variables. There were significant differences at (α < 0.05) in the level of school health, from the female teachers’ point of view attributed to the practical experience, in favor of teachers who had an experience, from 5 years and below, when they compared with teachers who had an experience from 6-10 years. In light of the findings, the teachers recommended the following: -Conducting continuous training courses for female primary school principals and teachers, to provide them with the necessary skills for school health. - A warning female principals and teachers, about the importance of raising the level of the school health, by preparing suitable training programs. - Evaluating the school health programs, to determine the strength and weakness points, and applying the suitable procedures.

الملخص
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف إلى مستوى الصحة المدرسية في المدارس الابتدائية في دولة الكويت من وجهة نظر المديرات والمعلمات. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (104) مديرة و(670) معلمة، تم اختيارهن بالطريقة الطبقية العشوائية وبنسبة (50%) من المديرات، ونسبة (5%) من المعلمات من مجتمع الدراسة. وقد استخدمت الاستبانة وسيلة لجمع البيانات، وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن مستوى الصحة المدرسية في المدارس الإبتدائية في دولة الكويت من وجهة نظر المديرات كان متوسطاً، وكذلك من وجهة نظر المعلمات، وبينت الدراسة انه لا وجود لفروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05 ≥ ) في مستوى الصحة المدرسية في المدارس الابتدائية من وجهة نظر المديرات تعزى لمتغيرات المؤهل العلمي والخبرة العملية والسلطة المشرفة، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05 ≥ ) في مستوى الصحة المدرسية في المدارس الابتدائية من وجهة نظر المعلمات تعزى لمتغيرات المؤهل العلمي، والسلطة المشرفة، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05 ≥ ) في مستوى الصحة المدرسية في المدارس الابتدائية من وجهة نظر المعلمات تعزى لمتغير الخبرة العملية ولصالح أصحاب الخبرة من 5 سنوات فما دون، عند مقارنة متوسطهم الحسابي مع متوسط أصحاب الخبرة 6-10 سنوات. في ضوء النتائج التي خلصت إليها هذه الدراسة يمكن التقدم بالتوصيات الآتية: - عقد دورات مستمرة لمديرات المدارس الابتدائية ومعلماتها لتزويدهن بالمهارات الخاصة بالصحة المدرسية. - توعية مديرات المدارس الابتدائية ومعلماتها بأهمية رفع مستوى الصحة في المدرسة بإعداد برامج تدريبية مناسبة. - تقويم برامج الصحة المدرسية لتحديد مواطن القوة وماطن الضعف وتطبيقالإجراءات المناسبة.
