Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the degree of implementing the community school system and the obstacles facing it as viewed by the government schools principals in Jerash province in Jordan. To achieve this objective a questionnaire was developed and distributed to a random sample of (120) principals and directors of governmental schools in the academic year 2011/2012. Analyzing data from these questionnaires showed the following: the degree of implementation of the community school was moderate. Community school applications focused on the following areas ordered from the highest to the least use application: (parental involvement, partnership in public relations, volunteerism, educational services, and the optimal use of community sources). The most important obstacles to the implementation of the community school are low incentives for workers and of administrative staff, the ineffective relationship between the community and the school, as well as school work pressure on teachers and managers. Based on these results, the study presented a number of recommendations including: the need to giving presentation and workshops to develop people's awareness of the importance of community schools and encouraging the community to provide support in all its areas to community schools.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى درجة تطبيق المدرسة المجتمعية ومعوقات ذلك من وجهة نظر مديري ومديرات المدارس الحكومية في محافظة جرش. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم إعداد استبانة لجمع البيانات وتوزيعها على عينة عشوائية، بلغ عدد أفرادها (120) ممثلة من مديري ومديرات المدارس الحكومية للعام الدراسي 2011/2012، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن درجة تطبيق المدرسة المجتمعية كانت متوسطة. وأن أكثر مجالات تطبيق المدرسة المجتمعية كانت في مجال مشاركة أولياء الأمور ثم مجال الشراكة في العلاقات العامة ثم مجال العمل التطوعي ثم مجال الخدمات التربوية وأقلها مجال الاستخدام الأمثل لمصادر المجتمع المحلي. وأن أكبر معوقات تطبيق المدرسة المجتمعية هي ضعف الحوافز المقدمة للعاملين ونقص الكوادر الإدارية المدربة وتفعيلها بين المجتمع والمدرسة وكذلك ضغط العمل المدرسي على المعلمين والمديرين. وبناء على هذه النتائج خرجت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات منها عقد دورات توعوية لأهمية تطبيق المدرسة المجتمعية، وفتح المجال أمام المجتمع المحلي لتقديم الدعم بكافة أشكاله.
