Abstract
This study aimed at clarifying the effect of expressive and dramatic processing of educational images on developing reading comprehension skills among fourth graders. The comprehension skills were identified and grouped in four levels: the first deals with direct literal comprehension levels، the second includes interpretive comprehension skills، the third includes comprehension deductive skills and the fourth includes critical comprehension skills. The sample of (77) students were selected. They were distributed into two groups: experimental group, which studied using expressive and dramatic treatment for educational images and the control, which studied the reading in the regular way. After statistical analysis. The results confirmed the effect of expressive and dramatic processing of educational images on developing reading comprehension skill. Moreover، there were statistically significant differences between the mean score of experimental group and control one in the post reading comprehension test in favor of experimental one. The study recommended on the necessity of focusing on the reading comprehension skills, and guiding the teachers to develop them in an organized way, and to increase the interests of the educational images. Additionally, training the teachers and the students on the skills of the picture reading, include the teacher's guide, with some procedures to illustrate how to employ the picture and use it in the educational process.
