Abstract

The current study aimed at identifying the degree of practicing of kindergarten teachers in the State of Kuwait for the language readiness skills of children. The study sample consisted of seven governemental kindergartens; belong to the capital educational area, seven teachers were also selected randomly from each kindergarten, who were teaching first and second level of kindergarten. To achieve the objectives of the study, a note card consisted of 57 items was prepared by the researchers to measure kindergarten teachers' practice of language readiness skills dur-ing the education situation, which was verified in terms of credibility and stability. The study finds that kindergarten teachers are practicing the language readiness skills with a medium degree. Moreover, there are sta-tistically significant differences in the degree of practicing in favor of those with more than 10 years of teaching experience.

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة الحالية التعرف إلى درجة ممارسة معلمات رياض الأطفال في دولة الكويت لمهارات الاستعداد اللغوي، فتكونت عينة الدراسة من سبع دور رياض أطفال حكومية تابعة لمنطقة العاصمة التعليمية، اختيرت عشوائياً، واختير كذلك، سبع معلمات من كل روضة بطريقة عشوائية، ممن يدرسن المستوى الثاني لرياض الأطفال. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، أعدّ الباحثان بطاقة ملاحظة، تكونت من (57) فقرة؛ لقياس ممارسة معلمات رياض الأطفال لمهارات الاستعداد اللغوي أثناء الموقف التعليمي، جرى التحقق من صدقها وثباتها. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن معلمات رياض الأطفال في دولة الكويت يمارسن مهارات الاستعداد اللغوي بدرجة متوسطة، وأظهرت النتائج كذلك وجود فروق في درجة الممارسة، ولصالح من لديهن خبرة تدريسية أكثر من عشر سنوات.
