Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the effect of the use of social media at the motivation of learning and decision-making among secondary students in the city of Amman. The study sample consisted of (612) male and female. The results showed statistically significant differences in the level of motivation of learning attributed to gender in favor of females, and there were statistically significant differences in decision-making level attributed to gender in favor of males. The results indicated that there was a positive relationship between the number of use times of less than (5) hours and the motivation of learning and decision-making. There was a negative relationship between the number of times of use for more than (5) hours and the motivation of learning and decision-making. The results indicated a positive relationship between the number of social media (1-2) media and each of the motivation of learning and decision-making, and the existence of a negative relationship between the number of social media for more than (3) media and each of the motivation of learning and decision-making. The study recommends that school students be made aware of the important role of social media in motivating and decision-making and training them

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة أثر استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي على دافعية التعلم واتخاذ القرار لدى طلبة الثانوية في مدينة عمان، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (612) طالباً وطالبة. أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى دافعية التعلم تعزى للجنس لصالح الإناث، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى اتخاذ القرار تعزى للجنس لصالح الذكور. كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود علاقة إيجابية بين عدد مرات الاستخدام للأقل من (5) ساعات وكل من دافعية التعلم واتخاذ القرار، ووجود علاقة سلبية بين عدد مرات الاستخدام للأكثر من (5) ساعات وكل من دافعية التعلم واتخاذ القرار. وأشارت النتائج إلى وجود علاقة إيجابية بين عدد وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من (1-2) وسيلة وكل من دافعية التعلم واتخاذ القرار، ووجود علاقة سلبية بين عدد وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي للأكثر من (3) وسائل وكل من دافعية التعلم واتخاذ القرار وتوصي الدراسة بتوعية طلبة المدارس بأهمية دور وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي في التحفيز واتخاذ القرار وتدريبهم عليها.
