This study aimed to analyze murder in the West Bank for the year 2017 according to some characteristics of the offender related to age group, gender, and nature of work. The researcher used a descriptive method in analyzing the data issued by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics and the Palestinian Police. The researcher found many results, the most prominent of which is that the age group most responsible for murder is the youth category. Men are more likely to commit murder in the West Bank by almost ten times than women. The unemployed are more responsible for murder than others. The highest percentage of employed perpetrators is from workmen. The study recommended the necessity of relying on the official statistics to develop sound policies. The study also recommended educating young people about the dangers of crime, in addition to the need to activate death penalty for murder.

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل جريمة القتل في الضفة الغربية لسنة 2017 وفقا لبعض خصائص الجاني وهي (الفئة العمرية، الجنس، طبيعة العمل)، وقد استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي من خلال تحليل البيانات الصادرة عن الجهاز المركزي للإحصاء الفلسطيني وجهاز الشرطة الفلسطينية، وقد توصل الباحث إلى العديد من النتائج أبرزها: أن الفئة العمرية الأكثر ارتكاباً لجرائم القتل هي فئة الشباب، وأن الرجال أكثر ارتكاباً لجرائم القتل من النساء في الضفة الغربية بعشرة أضعاف تقريبا، وأن العاطلين عن العمل أكثر ارتكاباً لجرائم القتل من غيرهم، وأن العمال أكثر المهن التي يرتكب أصحابها جرائم قتل، وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة الاعتماد من قبل الأجهزة المختصة في مكافحة جريمة القتل على الإحصاءات الرسمية لوضع السياسات السليمة، كما أوصت الدراسة بضرورة توعية الشباب بمخاطر الجريمة، إضافة إلى ضرورة تفعيل عقوبة الإعدام على جرائم القتل.
