Abstract

The study investigates the impact of employing artificial intelligence on media institutions in Palestine from the viewpoint of those in charge of communication, while highlighting the different perspectives expressed by those in charge of communication and technology experts in these institutions. The study, which was applied to the occupied Palestinian territories (West Bank and Gaza Strip), showed that 40% of the respondents believed that all those involved in the media industry including (journalists, directors of departments related to media work, editor-in-chiefs, editor-in-chiefs, heads of media institutions, Engineers...etc.) need training courses to promote their artificial intelligence skills. The results also showed that the majority of the respondents are still hesitating in terms of using of artificial intelligence techniques in the service of traditional media, while only (25%) answered that artificial intelligence can simulate human intelligence and play an important role in various fields. In addition, the majority of the respondents tended to believe that artificial intelligence technologies work as peripheral tools for the human beings and not a major alterative of human mind, as only (12.5%) answered that artificial intelligence technologies can completely replace the human practices.

الملخص

تأتي الدراسة لتظهر إيجابيات الذكاء الاصطناعي وسلبياته بنظر العاملين في المؤسسات الإعلامية الفلسطينية، مع تسليط الضوء على طبيعة التحفظات التي يبديها القائمون بالاتصال وخبراء التكنولوجيا في هذه المؤسسات. وأظهرت الدراسة التي طبقت على الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة (الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة)، أن ما نسبتهم (40%) من المبحوثين رأوا أن جميع من يشتركون بصناعة الإعلام: (الصحفيون، مدراء الإدارات المرتبطة بالعمل الإعلامي، رؤساء التحرير، مدراء التحرير، رؤساء المؤسسات الإعلامية، المهندسون...إلخ) يحتاجون إلى تدريبات عميقة بالذكاء الاصطناعي. واعتمدت الدراسة على منهج المسح الإعلامي، وطبقت على 40 صحفيًا، إذ اتضح أن غالبية المبحوثين ما يزالون في مرحلة التردد على صعيد التعمق أكثر في توظيف تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي في خدمة وسائل الإعلام التقليدية، فيما أجاب فقط (ما نسبتهم 25 %)، بأنه بمقدور الذكاء الاصطناعي محاكاة الذكاء الإنساني وأداء دور مهم في شتى المجالات. إن غالبية المبحوثين مالوا للاعتقاد بأن تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي ستبقى بمنزلة عوامل دعم وإسناد للعامل البشري وليس بديلًا تامًا مكانه، إذ أجاب (ما نسبتهم 12.5 %) فقط، أنه يمكن أن تحل تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي تماما مكان العنصر البشري.
