Attitudes of Female Students at Physical Education Department at Kadoorie University in Palestine towards Playing Soccer

Abstract

This study aims at identifying female students, attitudes in the physical education department at kadoorie University towards playing soccer, and identifying the differences in female students attitudes in regard to variables such as practicing and watching soccer. To achieve the purposes of study, a modified (Kenyon) scale was used to collect data. The random sample of study was consisted of (67) female students. The results revealed positive attitudes where the mean reached (3.87). The ranking of attitudes according to their level as follows: beauty domain, as pursuit of vertigo, health & fitness, sociology, and social. Also there were significant statistical differences in female student’s duo to: practicing and watching variable in favor of football practices and watching. Based on the study findings the researchers recommended that the female student’s attitudes should be invested to increase the scope of playing.

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى اتجاهات طالبات قسم التربية الرياضية في جامعة خضوري في فلسطين نحو ممارسة كرة القدم، إضافة إلى تحديد الفروق في اتجاهات الطالبات تبعاً لمتغير كل من ممارسة ومشاهدة كرة القدم، ولتحقيق ذلك أجريت الدراسة على عينة عشوائية قوامها (67) طالبة، طبق عليها مقياس كنون (Kenyon) المعدل لقياس الاتجاهات. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن اتجاهات الطالبات نحو كرة القدم كانت ايجابية بمتوسط حسابي بلغ (3.87)، وأن ترتيب المجالات كان وعلى التوالي: (مجال الجمال والتعبير، التفوق الرياضي، الصحة واللياقة، النفسي، الاجتماعي)، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق في اتجاهات الطالبات نحو كرة القدم تعزى لمتغير الممارسة ولصالح الممارسات ولمتغير المشاهدة ولصالح المشاهدات. وأوصى الباحثان بعدة توصيات من أهمها، تعزيز واستثمار اتجاهات الطالبات نحو كرة القدم بهدف زيادة رقعة وقاعدة الممارسة.
