Purpose: The study aimed to reveal the role of national identity in shaping the career choices of generations at Yarmouk University. Methodology: The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, and the sample consisted of (6,000) fourth-year students from the humanities colleges (College of Arts and College of Educational Sciences), selected through a convenient sampling method. A questionnaire was developed, consisting of (42) items distributed across six domains: Arabic language, Islamic religion, customs and traditions, shared history with the Arab nation, national belonging, and loyalty to leadership. The questionnaire was distributed electronically to the study sample. Results: The results showed a high degree of the role of national identity in shaping the career choices of generations. It indicated significant statistical differences attributed to gender in all areas, favoring males, and no significant statistical differences were found related to the impact of humanities colleges. Additionally, no significant statistical differences were attributed to the effect of daily technology usage hours across all areas. However, there were significant statistical differences regarding the influence of family across all areas, which was rated highly. Conclusions: The findings indicate that national identity is one of the influential factors in shaping students’ career orientations, and that students’ attachment to their national values contributes to forming their future career choices in a manner that aligns with the needs of society and the labor market. Recommendations: The study recommends enhancing career guidance programs at universities, integrating them with components of national identity, and developing guidance initiatives that help students make informed career decisions that support decent work and economic growth, in alignment with the eighth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 8).

الهدف: هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن دور الهوية الوطنية في تشكيل توجهات الأجيال نحو اختيار المهن المستقبلية في جامعة اليرموك. المنهج: اعتمدت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتكوَّنت عينة الدراسة من (6000) طالب/ ـة سنة رابعة من كليات العلوم الإنسانية (الآداب والعلوم التربوية)، تم اختيارهم بالطريقة المتيسرة، وتم تطوير الاستبانة؛ إذ تكونت من (42) فقرة موزَّعة على (6) محاور، وهي: اللغة العربية، الدين الإسلامي، العادات والتقاليد، التاريخ المشترك مع الأمة العربية، الانتماء للوطن، والولاء للقيادة، وتمَّ توزيع الاستبانة إلكترونيًّا على عينة الدراسة. أهم النتائج: وأظهرت النتائج درجة دور الهوية الوطنية في تشكيل توجهات الأجيال نحو اختيار المهن المستقبلية جاءت مرتفعة، ودلَّت على وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر الجنس في جميع المجالات جاءت لصالح الذكور، وعلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر كليات العلوم الانسانية، وعلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر عدد ساعات استخدام التكنولوجيا يوميًّا في جميع المجالات، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر تأثير العائلة في جميع المجالات جاءت بدرجة مرتفعة. الاستنتاجات: تشير النتائج إلى أن الهوية الوطنية تعد أحد العوامل المؤثرة في بناء التوجهات المهنية لدى الطلبة، وأن ارتباط الطلبة بقيمهم الوطنية يسهم في تشكيل اختياراتهم المستقبلية بما يتلاءم مع احتياجات المجتمع وسوق العمل. التوصيات: أوصت الدراسة بضرورة تعزيز برامج الإرشاد المهني في الجامعات، وربطها بمكونات الهوية الوطنية، وتطوير مبادرات توجيهية تساعد الطلبة على اتخاذ قرارات مهنية واعية تدعم العمل اللائق والنمو الاقتصادي، بما ينسجم مع الهدف الثامن من أهداف التنمية المستدامة (SDG 8).
