Abstract
Objective : Physical inactivity among adolescents remains a major global concern, with approximately 80% failing to meet the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendation of at least 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per day. This study aimed to evaluate adolescents’ satisfaction level with learning about physical activity through an Augmented Reality (AR) application compared to traditional PowerPoint-based materials. Methodology: A quasi-experimental design was employed involving 60 secondary school students randomly assigned to two groups. The experimental group (n = 30) used the AR-based learning application, while the control group (n = 30) received similar content via PowerPoint slides. Data were collected using a satisfaction questionnaire consisting of four dimensions—ease of use, engagement, motivation, and overall satisfaction—and analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test. Key Findings: Findings revealed significantly higher satisfaction among the AR group compared to the PowerPoint group (p < 0.05). Participants reported that AR learning was more interactive, enjoyable, and easier to understand. Conclusions: The results suggest that AR can enhance adolescents’ satisfaction and motivation in learning about physical activity by providing immersive, interactive, and realistic visualizations. Recommendations: This study highlights the potential of AR technology as an engaging educational tool to promote active and healthy behaviors among youth.
