This study deals with the various changes of the natural vegetation cover in Al-Mujib Delta, such as the plant distribution, density and plant types. These changes occurred due to basic geomorphological factors controlled by the lowering of the Dead Sea levels. A set of air photos taken between 195 3- 1993 covering Al- Mujib Delta were used in surveying and mapping these changes. Field work also contributed to the explanation of the factors which caused the changes in the vegetation cover. The study ended with conclusions, emphasizing major changes in Al-Mujib Dalta plant cover as reflected by plant deterioration under geomorphological changes. However, such a stage of deterioration could be halted when Al-Mujib river achieves a steady state which, consequently, enables the natural plant to recover.

تناولت هذه الدراسة مجموع التغيرات التي أصابت الغطاء النباتي من حيث: التوزع والكثافة والنوع في دلتا الموجب، كنتيجة حتمية للتغيرات الجيومورفولوجية الأساسية في دلتا الموجب، والتي نجمت عن هبوط مستوى البحر الميت وقد تم الاستعانة بغطاءات مختلفة من الصور الجوية لعدد من الفترات بين عامي 1953 – 1993 لمسح هذه التغيرات والانتهاء إلى تمثليها على خرائط كما استعين بالدراسة الميدانية لتفسير آلية عملية التغير في غطاء دلتا الموجب النباتي وتحديد نوعه وحجمه. وخلصت الدراسة إلى حقيقة حدوث تغير كبير في غطاء دلتا الموجب النباتي يتمثل بحالة انكماش في المساحات المغطاة، وتغير في النوع والكثافة، وهو أمر ينم على حالة تدهور نباتي نجمت عن العوامل الجيومورفولوجية والتي تمثلت بتجدد نشاط نهر الموجب في ألحت الرأسي والجانبي. إلا أن هذه المرحلة سرعان ما ستتوقف، بعد اتزان نهر الموجب الذي سيتبعه عودة نمو النبات الطبيعي من جديد.
