Abstract
In spite of the fact that clothes industry is considered to be one of the new industries in Jordan, it gains the first rank among exports which reaches a percentage of 26.8% of the whole national imports in the first half of the year 2003. However , no qualified graduates are available to work in this field which depends essentially on Foreign hands (labor) either in the processes of manufacturing or administration and supervising , at the time the percentage of unemployment is increasing among local citizen. This research aims at comprehending the skills and knowledge, required for that field either in manufacturing or teaching, in order to include them in the study plans of home economy which is considered to be the closest major to that industry since it includes a number of Fashion Design course.

الملخص
على الرغم من أن صناعة الملابس الجاهزة تعد من الصناعات الناشئة بالأردن إلا أنها سرعان ما احتلت المرتبة الأولى في الصادرات، حيث وصلت نسبتها إلى 26.8% من جملة الصادرات الوطنية في النصف الأول من عام 2003، غير أنه وإلى الآن لا يوجد في الأردن خريج جامعي مؤهل للعمل بتلك الصناعة؛ إذ تعتمد أساساً على العمالة الوافدة سواء في عمليات التصنيع أو الإشراف والإدارة في الوقت الذي تتزايد فيه نسبة البطالة بين السكان المحليين. ويهدف هذا البحث إلى تعرّف المهارات والمعارف اللازمة للعمل بذلك المجال سواء في الصناعة أو التدريس لدمجهما في الخطط الدراسية لطالبات بكالوريوس الاقتصاد المنزلي، إذ أن هذا التخصص يعد أقرب التخصصات إلى تلك الصناعة لاشتماله على عدد من المساقات الخاصة بالأزياء.
