Abstract

This research aims at clarifying the picture that the Andalusia poets drew to the occupied Islamic towns which were under the rule of the Spanish Kingdoms in the age of Mowahideen and Morabiteen. The poets presented the pictures of disasters and catastrophes which happened to those towns from siege, killing, capture and dispersion of people. They depicted the invaders destruction of the Islamic monuments and heritage of the towns. The poets showed great interest and understanding of the danger that threatened all the Andalusia countries. They also explained the causes that led to the fall of the Andalusia towns. The poets appealed for saving and liberating those towns. They urged Muslims to take role in the struggle to protect their holly places and incited them to resist and continue struggle. The poetry of that period was a mixture of lamenting of the lost towns which fell in the hands of the enemy, Jihad poetry, and longing to those towns that they were forced to leave.
