Abstract
This study aimed at exploring the effect of computer assisted learning on the first graders achievement in social and citizenship education. The sample of the study consisted of (2) classes for males and (2) classes for females, which were randomly divided into (2) groups: An experimental group of (46) students divided into a class of (17) males and a class of (29) females. This group was taught through the Computer Assisted Learning. - A control group of (44) students divided into a class of (25) males and a class of (19) females. This group was taught through the traditional method. - An achievement test was prepared by the researchers according to the purpose of the study. The test was administered before and after the treatment. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences (a=0.01) in first graders achievement (In favor of experimental group), and that there were no statistically significant differences (a=0.01) due to gender.

الملخص
هدفت هذه الدراسة الكشف عن أثر التعلم بمساعدة الحاسوب في تحصيل تلاميذ الصف الأول الأساسي في مبحث التربية الاجتماعية والوطنية. تكونت عينة الدراسة من شعبتين للذكور وشعبتين للإناث تم تقسيمها عشوائيا إلى: - مجموعة تجريبية عدد أفرادها (46) تلميذاً وتلميذة موزعين في شعبة ذكور عدد أفرادها (17) تلميذاً، وشعبة إناث عدد أفرادها (29) تلميذة درسوا بمساعدة الحاسوب. - مجموعة ضابطة عدد أفرادها (44) تلميذاً وتلميذة موزعين في شعبة ذكور عدد أفرادها (25) تلميذاً وشعبة إناث عدد أفرادها (19) تلميذة. أما أداة الدراسة فكانت اختباراً تحصيلياً أعده الباحثان لأغراض الدراسة، وتم تطبيقه على المجموعتين قبل التجربة وبعدها. أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية (=a0.01) في تحصيل تلاميذ الصف الأول الأساسي ولصالح المجموعة التجريبية وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية (=a0.01) تعزى للجنس.
