The work of Fransoa Abu Salem in Alhakawati Palestinian Theatre Company is considered to be an extension of other Arab theatre experiences that combined between the local and the global.  His work also read Palestinian reality in a political modern way inspired by local heritage.  His work also exposed the dialectical relationship between art and community in addition to the role of resistance theatre in resistance culture.  The work is done through the usage of mobile popular theatre explaining the concerns of Palestinians and social/political contexts under occupation. The work is done using improvisation, group work, and popular performance; his work claimed him to be a pioneer in festive Arab theatre which aims at enhancing the relationships between people and rekindling collective memory. The research aims at explaining the work of Fransoa Abu Salem and researching selection of his work.

تعد تجربة المخرج فرانسوا أبوسالم  في فرقة (مسرح الحكواتي الفلسطيني) امتدادا للتجارب الهامة في المسرح العربي التي زاوجت بين الأطر المحلية والعربية والعالمية، وقرأت الواقع الفلسطيني قراءةً سياسية معاصرة نابعة من معطيات التراث. كما كشفت عن جدلية العلاقة بين الفن والمجتمع إضافةً إلى دور المسرح النضالي في التوعية بثقافة المقاومة، وذلك من خلال مسرح شعبي متنقل يشرح هموم الإنسان الفلسطيني والأطر العامة لواقعه السياسي والاجتماعي تحت الاحتلال وفق أسلوب الارتجال والعمل الجماعي والفرجة الشعبيّة مما جعله أحد روّاد المشروع الاحتفالي العربي الذي يهدف إلى تجذير العلاقة التفاعلية بين الناس وإحياء الذاكرة الجمعية. ويهدف البحث إلى تناول آلية عمل المخرج فرانسوا أبوسالم في فرقة الحكواتي ورصد مقومات رؤيته الفنية من خلال النماذج المختارة.
