This study Attempts to focus on some samples in the story of "Himar al-Wahsh" (Zebra) which occurred in five poems in "Al- Mufadhaleyat". It aims to clarifying the image of difference and the implications of variation. This paper ends up with the facts that this variation is represented in the elements which are present or absent, the image where such ingredients occur, the way where are coined, and the occurrence of the story in the poem. Finally, it is clear that this variation is due to the difference in the vision of the poet and the issue that attracts him in the poem.

تحاول هذه الدراسة أن تدقق النظر في نماذج من قصة حمار الوحش وردت في خمس قصائد في "المفضليات"، ساعية إلى تبين صورة الاختلاف في عناصر القصة بين هذه القصائد، والعناصر التي يختلف فيها، ودلالات هذا الاختلاف. وخلصت الدراسة إلى وجود تباين في عناصر القصة بين القصائد، وتمثل ذلك التباين في العناصر التي تحضر أو تغيب، وفي الصورة التي ترد عليها تلك العناصر، وطريقة صوغها، وفي موقع القصة من القصيدة. وبدا أن ذلك التباين يعود إلى اختلاف رؤية الشاعر و القضية التي تشغله في القصيدة.
