This study aims at discussing women images in grade eight textbooks in the Palestinian schools. The researchers used three main tools to collect the required data; content analysis tool was developed for the purpose of analyzing the targeted textbooks (Arabic, Science, Math, and social studies) from gender point of view. The pictures, language, roles and responsibilities of male and female in the textbooks were noticed and analyzed. 15 Semi structured interviews were conducted with teachers in a different schools and classes were observed. The study found that the participation of female authors in textbooks authors is less than the participation of males. The stereotyped image of women is still reflected in the textbooks with slight improvement in the Arabic textbooks. The study recommended that more training workshops for teachers in gender awareness should be conducted.

تهدف هذه الورقة إلى مناقشة صورة المرأة في المنهاج الفلسطيني من خلال تحليل محتوى الكتب المدرسية للصف الثامن الأساسي، حيث تم تطوير أداة لتحليل المحتوى، وتم تحليل كتب اللغة العربية والعلوم والرياضيات، وكتب الاجتماعيات متمثلة في كتب التاريخ، والتربية الوطنية والتربية المدنية. كما تم إجراء 15 مقابلة مع معلمي ومعلمات مدارس حكومية ومدارس خاصة في محافظات نابلس وطولكرم وجنين، وإجراء مشاهدات للعديد من الحصص للتعرف على مدى معرفة المعلمين والمعلمات بمفاهيم النوع الاجتماعي، ومدى تطبيقها في المدارس المبحوثة، وتبين من نتائج هذا البحث أنه لا يزال هنالك تفاوت في نسبة مشاركة الاناث والذكور في تأليف الكتب لصالح الذكور، كما أن الصورة النمطية للمرأة لا تزال تصور من خلال الكتب المدرسية مع وجود تقدم طفيف في هذا المجال في بعض الكتب مثل اللغة العربية. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة تدريب المعلمين والمعلمات على مفاهيم النوع الاجتماعي.
