This study aims at investigating validity and reliability indicators of the cognitive styles test amongst undergraduated students at Jordanian universities. The scalewas translated to Arabic language, and edited to the Jordanian environment. It was applied to a random sample of (313) Jordanian university students through which validity and reliabilitywere investigated. It was verified using logical validity and construct validity through factor analysis, reliability was investigated using Cronbach Alpha, and standard error of measurement. The results of the study revealed four factors which explain (45.671%) of variance; it showed also a difference in the factorial structure of the Jordanian scale compared with the original one. Positive self-oriented style was the most dominant style among the sample, there is a weak correlation between the cognitive styles measured by the scale and the GPA of the student, the study ended with some recommendations, such as: conductiong other studies on the Jordanian form of (TCS) to investigate its psychometric properties on other populations, using this form to reveal the preferred cognitive styles amongst other samples, and with other variables.

هدفت الدراسة إلى استقصاء دلالات الصدق والثبات لمقياس الأساليب المعرفيةلدى طلبة الجامعات الأردنية، إذ تم تعريبالمقياس للبيئة الأردنية، وتطبيقه على عينة عشوائية من طلبة الجامعات الأردنية تكونت من (313) طالباً وطالبة، وتم التحقق من صدقه باستخدام الصدق المنطقي، وصدق البناء باستخدام التحليل العاملي، ومن ثباته بطريقة الاتساق الداخلي باستخدام معادلة كرونباخ ألفا، والخطأ المعياري في القياس. وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة تمتع المقياس بدلالات صدق وثبات مناسبة، فقد كشفت نتائج التحليل العاملي عن وجود أربعة عوامل تفسر ما مجموعه (45.671%) من التباين، كما تبين وجود اختلاف في البناء العاملي للصورة الأردنية لمقياس الأساليب المعرفية مقارنة بالبناء العامليللصورة الأجنبية الأصلية، وبينت النتائج شيوع أسلوب التوجه الإيجابي للذات لدى أفراد العينة مقارنة بالأساليب الأخرى، ووجود علاقات ارتباطية ضعيفة بين الأساليب المعرفية التي يقيسها المقياس والمعدل التراكمي للطالب، وانتهت الدراسة بعدد من التوصيات، منها: إجراء المزيد من الدراسات للتحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية للصورة الأردنية لمقياس الأساليب المعرفية على مجتمعات دراسية أخرى، واستخدام هذه الصورة في الكشف عن الأساليب السائدة والمفضلة لدى عينات مختلفة من الطلبة والأفراد من مختلف الفئات، وربطها بمتغيرات أخرى.
