Abstract

The research seeks to reveal the impact of learning based on brain theory on the achievement and mathematical thinking skills of the ninth grade students in the schools of the Directorate of Education in southern Hebron according to the method of teaching and sex and the interaction between them. The researcher used the experimental method to achieve the objectives of the research. The researcher selected a purposive sample of (132) students, divided into a controll group of (37) male and (33) female students, and an experimental group of 36 male and (26) female students. The subjects were examined twice: pre teaching achievement and mathematical thinking skills tests, and then applied after teaching the control group in the traditional way and the experimental group using brain-based learning theory. The results of the study showed that there are statistically significant differences in the means achievement of students and mathematical thinking due to the method of teaching. The differences are in favor of the method of learning based on the theory of the brain. Also, there are no statistically significant differences due to sex and the interaction between sex and the method. In the light of these results, the researcher presents a few recommendations, most important of which is that the Ministry of Education should conduct training courses for teachers to employ learning based on the theory of the brain in teaching mathematics.

الملخص

هدف البحث إلى كشف أثر التعلّم المستند إلى نظرية الدماغ في التحصيل ومهارات التفكير الرياضي لدى طلبة الصف التاسع الأساسي في مدارس مديرية التربية والتعليم في جنوب الخليل تبعاً لطريقة التدريس والجنس والتفاعل بينهما. ولتحقيق الهدف من هذا البحث اختار الباحث عينة قصدية –لتوفر معلمين مستعدين لتطبيق التجربة- مكونة من (132) طالباً وطالبة، قسمت إلى مجموعة ضابطة مكونة من (37) طالباً و(33) طالبة. ومجموعة تجريبية مكونة من (36) طالباً و (26) طالبة، وطبق عليهم اختبارات قبلية للتحصيل ومهارات التفكير الرياضي ومن ثم طبقت بعدياً بعد تدريس المجموعة الضابطة بالطريقة الاعتيادية والمجموعة التجريبية باستخدام التعلّم المستند إلى نظرية الدماغ. واستخدم الباحث المنهج التجريبي لتحقيق أهداف البحث، وقد بينت نتائج البحث وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في متوسط تحصيل الطلبة والتفكير الرياضي تعزى لطريقة التدريس لصالح المجموعة التي استخدمت التعلّم المستند إلى نظرية الدماغ، وعدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً تعزى إلى الجنس والتفاعل بين الجنس والطريقة. وبناءً على هذه النتائج أوصى الباحث العديد من التوصيات أهمها: أن تقوم وزارة التربية والتعليم بعمل دورات تدريبية للمعلمين لتوظيف التعلّم المستند إلى نظرية الدماغ في تدريس الرياضيات.
