The administrative and technical difficulties facing the principals of public schools in Palestine

Abstract

The present study aimed at revealing the degree of administrative and technical difficulties that faced the principals of public schools in Palestine from their point of view, in order to achieve the objective of the study; a questionnaire of (60) items was developed and distributed over five domains, and verified its validity and reliability, and then distributed to the study sample consisting of (140) male and female school principals. It was chosen by random stratified method, and used the descriptive approach in this study. The results showed that the degree of administrative and technical difficulties was medium, where the arithmetic mean of the instrument as a whole is (2.98) The results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of respondents on the total score due to gender variables, school level, years of experience, and scientific qualification, and there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of respondents on the total score, depending on the Directorate variable. In the light of the findings of the study, the researchers recommended a number of recommendations, including: The need to hold training courses aimed at providing school principals with managerial and technical skills, and to develop remedial action plans by trainers to overcome the difficulties they may face.

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة الحالية الكشف عن درجة الصعوبات الإدارية والفنية التي يواجهها مديرو المدارس الحكومية في فلسطين من وجهة نظرهم، ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم تطوير استبانة مكونة من (60) فقرة موزعة على خمسة مجالات، وتم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، ومن ثم توزيعها على عينة الدراسة المكونة من (140) مديراً ومديرة. وقد تم اختيارها بالطريقة العشوائية الطبقية، واستخدم المنهج الوصفي في هذه الدراسة، وقد أظهرت النتائج درجة الصعوبات الإدارية. والفنية حيث جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، فقد بلغ المتوسط الحسابي للأداة ككل (2.98)، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات المستجيبين على الدرجة الكلية تعزى لمتغير الجنس، ومستوى المدرسة، وسنوات الخبرة، والمؤهل العلمي. ووجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات المستجيبين على الدرجة الكلية، تبعاً لمتغير المديرية، وفي ضوء النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة، أوصى الباحثون بعدد من التوصيات منها: ضرورة عقد الدورات التدريبية التي تهدف إلى إكساب المديرين المهارات الإدارية والفنية، ووضع الخطط الإجرائية الاستدراكية من قبل المدريين للتغلب على الصعوبات التي قد تواجههم.
