This article aims to study the behavior of the Iranian regime in Yemen during the period of 2004-2018. It reveals the main objectives of Iran’s intervention and examines the determinants of the Iranian foreign policy towards Yemen. We also comment on John Mearsheimer's real-life theory of Iranian behavior in Yemen and consider the Role Theory by K. J. Holsti. Our research concludes that Iranian behavior in Yemen has affected the balance of power in the region and resulted in a regional reaction represented by Operation Decisive Storm. Furthermore, it is our determination that the Iranian intervention in Yemen has sought to achieve two goals: an ideological one achieved through the dissemination of the Twelver doctrine in Yemen; the second goal is geopolitical directed at controlling Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Iran seeks to realize these goals through its agents in Yemen, the Houthis.

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى دراسة سلوك النظام الإيراني في اليمن خلال الفترة 2004-2018م، والسعي للكشف عن أبرز أهداف هذا التدخل، ودراسة محددات السياسة الخارجية الإيرانية تجاه اليمن، ودراسة النظرية الواقعية الهجومية ((John Mearsheimer على السلوك الإيراني في اليمن، وكذلك دراسة نظرية الدور (K.J. HOLSTI)، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى أن السلوك الإيراني في اليمن قد اثر في موازيين القوى في المنطقة، وترتب على ذلك رد فعل اقليمي تمثل في عاصفة الحزم، وخلصت كذلك إلى أن التدخل الإيراني في اليمن قد سعى لتحقيق هدفين، الهدف العقائدي ويتمثل في نشر المذهب الاثني عشري في اليمن، والاخر الهدف الجيوسياسي والمتمثل في السيطرة على اهم المضائق في العالم وهو مضيق باب المندب، وتسعى إيران لتحقيق هذه الاهداف عبر وكلائها في اليمن جماعة الحوثيون.
