Abstract

This study aims at identifying the effectiveness of a counseling program in reducing psychological stress and changing the perceptions of families of hearing disabilities towards their children with hearing disabilities. The following tools were used: Psychological stress scale, and families’ perceptions. The study sample consisted of (40) individuals of the families of the hearing disabilities in Saudi Arabia. They were divided into two groups: one was a control group and the other an experimental group. The results showed that the level of psychological stress among the parents of the hearing disabilities children came to a high level, and the perceptions of the families of children hearing disabilities towards their children came to a medium degree, there were statistically significant differences in the level of psychological stress between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group, there were statistically significant differences in parents' perceptions towards their children with hearing disabilities between the experimental and the control groups in favor of the experimental group.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن فاعلية برنامج إرشادي في خفض الضغوط النفسية لدى أسر المعاقين سمعياً وتغيير مدركاتهم نحو أطفالهم، وللتحقق من ذلك تمَّ استخدام مقياسي الضغوط النفسية والمدركات، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (40) فرداً من أسر المعاقين سمعياً في السعودية، تمَّ توزيعهم إلى مجموعتين؛ إحداهما ضابطة، والأخرى تجريبية تمَّ تطبيق البرنامج الإرشادي على أفرادها. أظهرت النتائج أن مستوى الضغط النفسي لدى أولياء أمور المعاقين سمعياً جاء بدرجة مرتفعة، وأن مدركاتهم نحو أطفالهم جاءت بدرجة متوسطة، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في كل من مستوى الضغوط النفسية لدى أولياء الأمور ومدركاتهم نحو أطفالهم المعاقين سمعياً بين المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في القياس البعدي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية.
