Difficult faced by Palestinian refugee Women in Nablus camps

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the most prominent difficulties facing by the Palestinian refugee women inside the camps of Nablus city, in order to achieve these goals, the researchers used the qualitative approach as it fits the objectives of the study. The study was constructed on a sample of (40) refugee women who live in the camps of Nablus (Al-Ain camp, Balata camp and Askar camp). The interview was used as a study tool. The results showed that the refugee women in Nablus city camps suffer from economic difficulties represented in low income and lack of job opportunities. She also suffers from psychological difficulties represented in her feeling of inferiority and marginalization. The results also showed that they suffer from social difficulties represented in confining their relations to their surroundings, and educational difficulties that she or her children become obsessed with. The study recommended raising awareness among members of local society of the social difficulties faced by refugee women inside camps, and encouraging them to find solutions for them by holding seminars, conferences and workshops. In addition to strengthening the role of universities in supporting the refugee issue, and raising awareness among its students, by including the issue in its curricula and offering couses dealing with refugee suffering and issue.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على أبرز الصعوبات التي تواجه المرأة الفلسطينية اللاجئة داخل مخيمات مدينة نابلس، ومن أجل تحقيق هذا الهدف فقد استخدم الباحثان المنهج النوعي لملاءمته لأغراض الدراسة، وأجريت الدراسة على عينة قوامها (40) امرأة لاجئة يقمن في مخيمات مدينة نابلس (مخيم العين، مخيم بلاطة، مخيم عسكر)، وقد استخدمت المقابلة كأداة للدراسة، وقد أظهرت النتائج أنّ المرأة اللاجئة في مخيمات مدينة نابلس تعاني من صعوبات اقتصادية تمثلت في تدني الدخل وقلة فرص العمل المتاحة أمامها، كما تعاني من صعوبات نفسية تمثلت في شعورها بالدونية والتهميش، كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أنّ المرأة في المخيمات تعاني من صعوبات اجتماعية تمثلت اقتصار علاقاتها على محيطها، وصعوبات تعليمية تتعلق بها أو بأبنائها، وقد أوصت الدراسة بزيادة الوعي لدى أفراد المجتمع المحلي بالصعوباتالاجتماعية التي تواجه المرأة اللاجئة داخل المخيمات، وتشجعيهم للمساعدة في إيجاد حلول لها، من خلال إقامة ندوات ومؤتمرات وورشات عمل، بالإضافة إلى تعزيز دور الجامعات في دعم قضية اللاجئين، وزيادة الوعي لدى طلبتها، من خلال تضمين القضية في مناهجها وطرح مساقات تتناول معاناة وقضية اللاجئين.
