Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the spatial distribution pattern of Banks in the city of Irbid/Jordan. And analysis of variables that influenced the formation of this pattern. The study applied historical approach to trace the spatial spread of Banks, and how they relate to the stages of the city’s growth. Descriptive analytical approachis also appliedtoreveal the relationship between the distribution of Banks and population densities. Statistical and Cartographic analysis within (GIS) is used as well. Results showed a tremendous variation in the distribution of Banks among the areas, revealing a clear clustered pattern. Population density was not an affecting variable. Other variables, such as the type of the land use, nuclei of urban, social and economic characteristics of the population were the main forces affecting the distribution. Results also reviled continuous control of the central business district (CBD) on the financial services and banking facilities in the city. The study recommended taking into account and adopting geographical standards in the distribution of banking services and determining the locations of new bank branches in the city of Irbid, such as population characteristics (population density, income level), urban facilities accessibility (hospitals and health facilities, the central business district, hotels and tourist centers, and parking lots). And transportation system (taxis / bus stops and the adjacent main road).

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن نمط التوزيع المكاني للمباني البنكية في مدينة اربد. وتحليل المتغيرات والقوى التي أثرت في تشكيل هذا النمط. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج التاريخي في تتبع مراحل تطور وانتشار البنوك في المدينة، ومدى ارتباطها بمراحل نمو المدينة التنظيمي والعمراني. واستخدمت المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لتحديد العلاقة بين توزيع البنوك ونمو المدينة وتطورها الحضري والكثافات السكانية في مناطقها، وارتباطها بمحاور الطرق الرئيسة. كما اعتمدت على أدوات التحليل الإحصائي والكارتوغرافي في نظم المعلومات الجغرافية (GIS)، لتحقيق أهدافها. أظهرت الدراسة وجود تباين كبير في توزيع البنوك على مناطق المدينة السبع، وعن تجمع واضح في توزيعها. وأن متغير الكثافة السكانية لم يكن ذا أثر في نمط توزيع البنوك، بل تأثر بمتغيرات أخرى كالاستعمال التجاري للأراضي، والنويات العمرانية، والخصائص الاجتماعية والاقتصادية للسكان. كما أظهرت النتائج استمرار سيطرة منطقة الأعمال المركزية على مرافق الخدمات المالية والمصرفية في المدينة. أوصت الدراسة بمراعاة واعتماد المعايير الجغرافية في توزيع الخدمات المصرفية وتحديد مواقع فروع البنوك الجديدة في مدينة اربد، كالخصائص السكانية (الكثافة السكانية، مستوى الدخل)، إمكانية الوصول إلى المرافق الحضرية (المستشفيات والمرافق الصحية، منطقة الأعمال المركزية، والفنادق والمراكز السياحية، ومواقف السيارات)، ونظام النقل (سيارات الأجرة / محطات الحافلات، والطريق الرئيسي المجاور).
