Abstract

This study aims to apply the Universal Erosion Model (RUSLE) on Wadi Rajeb Basin in order to estimate the susceptibility of soil to erosion. The research follows the analytical method for different data to represent the variables that have been dealt with in (GIS), such as: Digital Elevation Model (DEM), Data of soil properties, sentinel-2 image, etc. The study shows that the basin is subjected to erosion in varying levels. It also shows that 21% of the basin is highly exposed to soil erosion (572 ton/ha/year), and 34% of it is a moderate risk level for erosion (124-213 ton/ha/year), and the remaining areas (45% of the basin) appear to be at low risk (<0.24 ton/ha/year). The study recommends on the importance of providing techniques and methods to save the soil stabilization in the basin, especially in areas prone to erosion.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تطبيق نموذج المعادلة العالمية ((RUSLE لتقدير قابلية التربة للانجراف في حوض وادي راجب، شمالي الأردن. واتبع الباحث في دراسته المنهج التحليلي لمعطيات مختلفة ليُمثل من خلالها متغيرات المعادلة المختلفة، منها: نموذج التضرس الرقميDEM ، وبيانات خصائص التربة، والمرئية الفضائية Sentinle-2، والبيانات المطرية، ثم صير إلى التعامل معها داخل بيئة نظم المعلومات الجغرافية، عبر برمجية ArcMap 10.8. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى إنتاج خريطة لقابلية أجزاء الحوض للانجراف، وقد بلغت مساحات ترب المناطق المعرضة للانجراف بدرجة كبيرة 21% من مساحة الحوض الإجمالية، أو حوالي 572 طن/هكتار/سنة، أما المناطق التي كانت معرضة بدرجة متوسطة فقد كان نصيبها 34% (124-213 طن/هكتار/سنويا)، في حين كانت باقي مناطق الحوض، وتشكل 45% من مساحته، ذات قابلية ضعيفة للانجراف (0.24 طن/هكتار/سنويا). وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة العمل على توفير تقنيات وأساليب لتثبيت التربة في الحوض؛ بخاصة في المناطق المعرضة لخطر الانجراف.
