Abstract
This research aimed to investigate the factorial structure of the self-control and self-management scale using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The study sample consisted of 1159 students from public and private universities they were selected using convenient sampling method. The Mezo(2009) scale was used, consisting of 17 items after it was translated into Arabic. The study results indicated that the scale had good psychometric properties. Furthermore, the factorial structure was verified using exploratory factor analysis, and the results showed the existence of three primary factor: self-monitoring, self-evaluating, and self-reinforcing, which all explained 55% of the total variance. The confirmatory factor analysis was conducted using Amos's statistical software. The following indicators were extracted: Chi-Square, CFI, RMSEA, and SRMR, all of it indicated the fit of the model reached through the confirmatory factor analysis with the model obtained using the exploratory factor analysis.
