Abstract

Objective: This study examined the predictive relationship between design thinking and the creative mindset among public school principals in Tulkarm Governorate. Methodology: A descriptive–analytical–predictive approach was adopted. A questionnaire was distributed to all (140) principals; (119) valid responses were collected through convenience sampling, and (117) were analyzed. Results: Design thinking explained (52%) of the variance in the creative mindset. Its dimensions—reasoning and reflection, collaboration, and implementation—had positive, statistically significant effects, with implementation showing the strongest influence, whereas idea generation was not significant. Recommendations: Strengthen Palestinian public-school principals’ capacity to apply design thinking through targeted training, collaborative professional learning communities, and policies that embed design thinking into routine practice. Conclusion: Design thinking significantly enhances the creative mindset of public-school principals in Tulkarm. These findings underscore integrating reflective, collaborative, and practical approaches to foster creativity and innovation in school leadership.

الملخص

الهدف: هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى استكشاف العلاقة التنبؤية بين التفكير التصميمي والعقلية الإبداعية لدى مديري المدارس الحكومية في محافظة طولكرم. المنهج: تم اعتماد منهجا وصفيا تنبؤيا لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، فيما تم توزيع الاستبانة على جميع مديري المدارس محل الدراسة والبالغ عددهم (140) مدير ومديرة، وباستخدام أسلوب العينة المتاحة تم الحصول على (119) استجابة خضعت منها فقط (117) للتحليل الاحصائي النتائج: توصلت الدراسة الى ان التفكير التصميمي فسر ما نسبته (52%) من التباين في العقلية الإبداعية، كما تم التوصل الى وجود تأثير إيجابي ودال احصائيا للتفكير التصميمي بدلالة ابعاده (الاستدلال والـتأمل، التعاون، التنفيذ) على العقلية الإبداعية، وجاء بعد التنفيذ الأكثر تأثيراً على العقلية الإبداعية، فيما لم تدعم النتائج تأثير توليد الأفكار على العقلية الإبداعية. التوصيات: أوصت الدراسة بتعزيز قدرة مديري المدارس الحكومية الفلسطينية على التفكير التصميمي من خلال التدريب المُوجَّه، ومجتمعات التعلم التعاوني، والسياسات التي تُدمج التفكير التصميمي في الممارسات اليومية. الاستنتاج: يُعزز التفكير التصميمي بشكل ملحوظ العقلية الإبداعية لمديري المدارس الحكومية في طولكرم، وهذا يُبرز أهمية الجمع بين المناهج التأملية والتعاونية والعملية لتعزيز الإبداع والابتكار في القيادة المدرسية.
