Objective: this study aims to identify challenges older people face in digital communication with younger generations and suggest strategies to enhance it. Methodology: the current study belongs to descriptive-analytical studies and future studies. This mixed-method research uses social surveys and the Delphi method, and the research sample consisted of a random sample of (384) older people and a sample of 20 experts. Results: the study results indicate many technical challenges, such as weak technological culture, difficulties understanding chat applications, lack of adequate training and support, and security and privacy concerns. The results also show that many social and psychological challenges come from feeling embarrassed to ask for help from others due to a lack of familiarity with digital technologies, and feeling confused and lacking self-confidence in modern technologies. Conclusion: The study revealed that the digital gap between generations is not merely a technical issue but also extends to social and psychological dimensions that hinder the integration of older adults into the modern digital environment. The findings also confirmed that overcoming these challenges requires a comprehensive approach that combines awareness, continuous training, and community support to enhance older adults' confidence in their digital abilities. Recommendations: the study suggests strategies to overcome these challenges, including gradual learning and the utilisation of easy-to-use applications and programs, training and continuing education, receiving support from the digital generation, and creating a stimulating social environment and others.

الهدف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على التحديات التي تواجه كبار السن في تحقيق التواصل الرقمي مع الأجيال الرقمية الحالية ووضع استراتيجيات مقترحة لمواجهتها لتعزيز التواصل الرقمي لكبار السن. المنهجية: تنتمي الدراسة الحالية إلى نمط الدراسات الوصفية التحليلية ونمط الدراسات المستقبلية، وطبق الباحثان منهج البحث الاجتماعي باستخدام العينة وأسلوب دلفي. تم تطبيق الاستبانة على عينة عشوائية مقدارها (384) من كبار السن فضلاً عن عينة الخبراء والبالغ عددهم (20) خبيراً. النتائج: أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التحديات التقنية أهمها: ضعف الثقافة التكنولوجية، والصعوبة في فهم تطبيقات الدردشة، وعدم وجود التدريب والدعم الكافي، ومخاوف الأمان والخصوصية وغيرها. كما أوضحت النتائج بأن العديد من التحديات الاجتماعية والنفسية تأتي من الشعور بالإحراج من طلب المساعدة من الآخرين نتيجة عدم الإلمام بالتقنيات الرقمية، والإحساس بعدم القدرة على تعلم شيء جديد والشعور بالارتباك ونقص الثقة بالنفس أمام التكنولوجيا الحديثة. الاستنتاجات: أوضحت الدراسة أن الفجوة الرقمية بين الأجيال ليست مجرد قضية تقنية، بل تمتد إلى أبعاد اجتماعية ونفسية تعيق اندماج كبار السن في البيئة الرقمية الحديثة. كما أكدت النتائج أن تجاوز هذه التحديات يتطلب نهجًا شاملاً يجمع بين التوعية والتدريب المستمر، إضافةً إلى الدعم المجتمعي الذي يعزز ثقة كبار السن في قدراتهم الرقمية. التوصيات: قدم الباحثان مجموعة من الاستراتيجيات المقترحة في سبيل التغلب على هذه التحديات ومنها: التعلم التدريجي واستخدام التطبيقات سهلة الاستخدام، والتدريب والتعليم المستمر وتلقي الدعم من الجيل الرقمي، وخلق بيئة اجتماعية محفزة وغيرها.
