Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the negative impact of modern communication technology on the education of young people from the parents' perspective. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The sample consisted of (400) parents of students, studying in Mafraq Governorate schools in Jordan, aged (14- 18 years). The results showed a negative impact on the education of young people from parents' viewpoints to a high degree. The most prominent area of religious problems, followed by the education problems, both with high degrees. While community education problems came last, ranked at medium degree. Statistical significant differences reported in parents' responses as a whole to age variable in favor of age categories (35-49years, and >50 years). Differences in parents' responses as a whole according to the variable of scientific qualification in favor of higher education categories. The researcher recommended the need for parents to regulate the use of children to the means of modern communication technology and control the materials they see and the use of means of protection to prohibit inappropriate materials.
