Abstract

Objectives: This research aims to measure the use of persuasive design techniques—primary task support, dialogue support, credibility support, and social support—on health-related pages of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) website, and to analyze how these techniques were used in presenting information about the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: This study is descriptive and adopts a survey approach to measure the extent to which persuasive design techniques were employed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analysis was conducted using a checklist based on the Persuasive Systems Design (PSD) model developed by Oinas-Kukkonen and Harjumaa (2009), which includes primary task support, dialogue support, credibility support, and social support. Results: The findings indicate that primary task support was employed at a rate of 70%, dialogue support at 58.82%, credibility support at 68.75%, and social support at 56.25%, resulting in an overall persuasive design usage rate of 63.76%. The elements employed within each category were largely limited to features associated with the basic web environment, such as navigation menus, hyperlinks, and breaking news. Recommendations: The study recommends the comprehensive application of all elements of primary task support and addressing the underutilization of important online features, such as internal and external contextual links. It also emphasizes the importance of displaying update times and enabling account creation, which fall under dialogue support; incorporating hypertext links within credibility support to reference information sources; and enabling user comments as a form of collaboration under social support. الملخص

الأهداف: هدف هذا البحث لقياس توظيف أساليب التصميم المقنع (دعم المهمة الأساسية، دعم الحوار، دعم المصداقية، الدعم الاجتماعي)، في الصفحات الصحية ضمن موقع وكالة الأنباء العربية السورية للأنباء (SANA)، وما قدّمته حول جائحة (كوفيد – 19). المنهجية: تنتمي هذه الدراسة إلى الدراسات الوصفية، وتعتمد منهج المسح في قياس نسبة توظيف أساليب التصميم المقنع في الصفحات الصحية ضمن موقع وكالة الأنباء العربية السورية للأنباء (SANA)، وما قدّمته في جائحة (كوفيد – 19)، باستخدام قائمة مراجعة (Checklist) تضمّنت أساليب (دعم المهمة الأساسية، دعم الحوار، دعم المصداقية، الدعم الاجتماعي) وفق نموذج (Oinas-Kukkonen & Harjumaa, 2009) لتصميم الأنظمة المقنعة (PSD Persuasive Systems Design Model). النتائج: توصل البحث إلى توظيف أسلوب دعم المهمة الأساسية بنسبة (70%)، أسلوب دعم الحوار بنسبة (58.82%)، أسلوب دعم المصداقية (68.75%)، وأسلوب الدعم الاجتماعي (56.25%)، وعليه بلغت نتيجة توظيف الأساليب الكليّة (63.76%). اقتصرت العناصر الموظّفة لكل أسلوب على ما يتعلّق ببيئة الإنترنت الأساسية فقط، كقوائم التصفح والروابط والأخبار العاجلة. التوصيات: أوصى البحث بضرورة توظيف كامل عناصر أسلوب دعم المهمّة الأساسية، وتفادي النقص في استخدام عناصر هامّة في بيئة الإنترنت كالروابط الإضافية داخل وخارج السياق، وإدراج وقت التحديث، كما ضرورة الاهتمام بإمكانية إنشاء حساب التي تندرج ضمن أسلوب دعم الحوار، أيضاً النص الفائق ضمن إطار أسلوب دعم المصداقية للإشارة إلى مصادر المعلومات، وإتاحة التعليقات كنوع من التعاون مع المُستخدم والتي تندرج ضمن الدعم الاجتماعي.
