Objective: This study aimed to examine self-compassion and its relationship with psychological tranquility among a sample of nurses working at Karak Government Hospital. The study sample comprised 120 male and female nurses selected using simple random sampling. Two scales were developed for the purposes of this study—the Self-Compassion Scale and the Psychological Tranquility Scale—and their psychometric properties were verified. Methods: A descriptive correlational design was used to assess levels of self-compassion and psychological tranquility and to examine the relationship between them. Result: The results indicated moderate levels of both self-compassion and psychological tranquility. In addition, the findings revealed a positive correlation between self-compassion and psychological tranquility, indicating that higher self-compassion is associated with higher psychological tranquility, and vice versa. Recommendations: Greater attention should be given to the dimensions of psychological tranquility among nurses and enhanced through guidance/counseling programs. Conclusions :The work environment plays a role in self-compassion and psychological tranquility; therefore, psychologically supportive work environments should be fostered by reducing sources of occupational stress and providing safe spaces for dialogue and support, which may positively enhance psychological tranquility.

الهدف: هدفت الدراسة الحالية التعرف إلى الشفقة بالذات وعلاقتها بالطمأنينة النفسية لدى عينة من الممرضين العاملين في مستشفى الكرك الحكومي، تكونت عينة الدراسة من (120) ممرضاً وممرضة، وتم أخذ العينة بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة، وتم تطوير مقياسان هما: الشفقة بالذات والطمأنينة النفسية، وتم التحقق من خصائصهما السيكومترية. المنهج: تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي لمعرفة مستوى الشفقة بالذات وعلاقتها بالطمأنينة النفسية لدى عينة من الممرضين في محافظة الكرك. النتائج: أظهرت نتائج الدّراسة وجودِ مستوى متوسط من مستوى الشفقة بالذات والطمأنينة النفسية، وإلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية إيجابية بين الشفقة بالذات والطمأنينة النفسية، أي كلما زادت الشفقة بالذات ارتفعت الطمأنينة النفسية، وكلما قلت الطمأنينة النفسية انخفضت الشفقة بالذات. التوصيات: العمل على الاهتمام بأبعاد الطمأنينة النفسية لدى العينة، وتنميتها من خلال برامج إرشادية. الاستنتاجات: يستنتج الباحثون أن بيئة العمل لها دور في الشفقة بالذات ومستوى الطمأنينة النفسية؛ لذا يجب توفير بيئة عمل داعمة نفسيًا من خلال تقليل مصادر الضغط المهني، وتوفير مساحات آمنة للحوار والدعم، مما ينعكس إيجابًا على مستوى الطمأنينة النفسية لديهم.
