Abstract

The research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Balance Model in developing equation-building skills in mathematics among sixth-grade students at the basic education stage. The experimental approach was used to achieve the research objective, applying it to a sample of (85) male and female students, divided into two groups: (43) students from the experimental group who studied according to the Balance Model, and (42) students from the control group who studied using the traditional method. An equation-building skills test was administered to measure the effectiveness of the model, and the researcher used (T-Test) and Mann Whitney test as a way to process the results and see significant differences between the two independent samples, the effectiveness was measured by using (η2).Among the most important results reached by the research are: - The presence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of students in the experimental and control groups in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group. - There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of high-achieving students in the control and experimental groups in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group. - There was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of low-achieving students in the control and experimental groups in the post-test, in favor of the experimental group. Depending on the study results, the researcher suggests adopting Balance Model in teaching the mathematics curriculum, preparing instructional materials and holding training courses for teachers in this field, and urging teachers to use modern teaching strategies, training students in equation building skills, and employing other strategies to develop them. Based on the research’s findings; it was recommended to conduct future research to explore the effectiveness of training the teachers on using Balance Model in the digital way across solving more complicated equations and with students which have learning difficulties and in different subjects and grade levels.

هدف البحثُ إلى معرفةِ فاعلية أنموذج الميزان Balance Model في تنميةِ مهاراتِ بناء المعادلة في مادة الرياضيّات لدى تلاميذِ الصّفِ السّادس من التعليمِ الأساسيّ، استُخدِمَ المنهجُ التجريبيّ لتحقيقِ هدفِ البحثِ، بتطبيقهِ على عيّنةٍ مؤلفةٍ من (85) تلميذاً وتلميذة, قُسّمَت إلى مجموعتين؛ (43) تلميذاً من المجموعة التجريبية التي درست وفقاً لأنموذج الميزان، و(42) تلميذاً من المجموعة الضابطة التي درست بالطريقةِ التقليديةِ، واستُخدِم اختبار مهارات بناء المعادلة لتحقيق هدف البحث, وطُبّق اختبار (T-test) واختبار Mann Whitneyلمعالجة النتائج ومعرفة دلالة الفروق بين مجموعتين مستقلتين, وحُسِب حجم الفاعلية باستخدام مربع إيتا(η2) , ومن أهم النتائج التي توصّل إليها البحثُ: - وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات تلامذة المجموعة التجريبية والضابطة في التطبيق البعدي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. - وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات التلامذة مرتفعي التحصيل في المجموعتين الضابطة والتجريبية في التطبيق البعدي لمقياس مهارات بناء المعادلة الرياضية لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. - وجود فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات التلامذة منخفضي التحصيل في المجموعتين الضابطة والتجريبية في التطبيق البعدي لمقياس مهارات بناء المعادلة الرياضية لصالح المجموعة التجريبية. وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة تقترح الباحثة تبني استخدام أنموذج الميزان في تدريس منهاج الرياضيات، وإعداد نشرات وعقد دورات تدريبية للمعلمين في هذا المجال، وضرورة حث المعلمين على استخدام استراتيجيات حديثة في التدريس، وتدريب التلاميذ على مهارات بناء المعادلة، وتوظيف استراتيجيات أخرى لتنميتها. وبناء على النتائج توصي الدراسة بإجراء دراسات مستقبلية لمعرفة فاعلية تدريب المعلمين على استخدام أنموذج الميزان بشكلٍ رقميّ, وفي حل معادلات أكثر تعقيداً, ومع التلاميذ الذين لديهم صعوبات تعلم وفي مواد دراسية مختلفة ومراحل صفية مختلفة.
