Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of practicing students’ activities accompanying the curriculum in the intermediate stage as perceived by teachers, and its relation to their students’ achievement in Kuwaiti schools. The sample was chosen through simple random sampling totaling (355) teachers from different majors in intermediate schools in Al-Ahmadi District. To achieve this aim the researcher developed a questionnaire consisted of (43) items distributed on five domains. The findings of the study showed that the total degree of practicing Students activities accompanying the curriculum in the intermediate stage as perceived by teachers was in a high where physical activities came first while the religious activities came in low category rank. The findings showed that there were no significant statistical differences attributed to the scientific qualification teachers while there are significant statistical differences attributed to the major of teacher effect for the favor of humanitarian majors. Moreover, the findings showed that there is a positive significant relationship between the degree of practicing those activities and the achievement of students as perceived by teachers. Based on the findings of the study the researcher recommended that needs of engaging local institutions concerned of students activities as will as conducting similar studies in other stages within different academic majors.

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة الحالية التعرف على درجة ممارسة الأنشطة الطلابية المرافقة للمنهاج في المرحلة المتوسطة من وجهة نظر المعلمين وعلاقتها بتحصيل طلبتهم في دولة الكويت. وقد تم اختيار عينة الدراسة بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة، وبلغ عددهم (355) معلماً من مختلف التخصصات في المدارس المتوسطة التابعة لمنطقة الأحمدي في دولة الكويت، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم إعداد استبانة مكونة من (43) فقرة، موزعة على خمسة مجالات. وكشفت نتائج الدراسة أن الدرجة الكلية لمستوى ممارسة الأنشطة الطلابية المرافقة للمنهاج في المرحلة المتوسطة في دولة الكويت من وجهة نظر المعلمين جاءت مرتفعة، وقد جاء مجال النشاط الرياضي في المرتبة الأولى، وجاء مجال النشاط الديني في المرتبة الأخيرة. وكشفت النتائج عن عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لأثر المؤهل العلمي، ووجود فروق إحصائية تعزى لأثر التخصص، وجاءت الفروق لصالح التخصصات الإنسانية، كما كشفت النتائج عن وجود علاقة إيجابية دالة إحصائياً بين درجة ممارسة الأنشطة الطلابية من وجهة نظر المعلمين وتحصيل طلبتهم في المرحلة المتوسطة. وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة الحالية تمت عدة توصيات أهمها: إشراك مؤسسات المجتمع المحلي والجهات ذات العلاقة بالأنشطة الطلابية، وإجراء دراسات في مجال الأنشطة الدراسية في مختلف المراحل الدراسية، ومختلف التخصصات الأكاديمية في المدارس.
