This study aimed to recognize the contribution of mental toughness in competitive behavior among swimmers, the study was conducted on a sample of (12) male and (14) female from the Jordanian national swimmers team, to collect data was used mental toughness scale for (James Loehr, 1986) and competitive behavior scale for (Harris, 1984), The results showed that mental toughness has a relation with the competitive behavior and have a high percentage contribution (90%) in it among Jordanian swimmers, the researcher recommended to development the psychological aspects of swimmers as the physical, skills, tactical and knowledge in the training programs to enhance the level of mental toughness because of their impact on the positive behavior during the competitions.

هدف هذا البحث التعرف إلى مدى مساهمة الصلابة العقلية بالسلوك التنافسي لدى سباحي وسباحات المنتخب الأردني، حيث تكونت عينة البحث من (12) سباح و(14) سباحة من المنتخب الأردني، وتم استخدام مقياس الصلابة العقلية لجيمس لوهر(James Loehr, 1986)، ومقياس السلوك التنافسي لـ دورثي هاريس Harris, 1984))، وأشارت نتائج البحث بأن للصلابة العقلية علاقة في السلوك التنافسي وساهمت بنسبة عالية فيه بلغت (90%) لدى سباحي وسباحات المنتخب الأردني، وأوصى الباحث الاهتمام بالجانب النفسي للسباحين أسوةً بالجوانب البدنية والمهارية والخططية والمعرفية في الوحدات التدريبية لتعزيز مستوى الصلابة العقلية لما لها أثر على السلوك الإيجابي أثناء المنافسات.
