تناولت الدراسة موضوع القبيلة في اليمن ككيان اجتماعي مؤثر في ديناميكية الحياة الاجتماعية والتكامل الاجتماعي والسياسي للدولة اليمنية التي تمثل القبيلة أساسا بناء مكونها الاجتماعي والسياسي كنظام متأصل في صلب العملية السياسية على مدى تاريخه السياسي. وقد تمت الإشارة إلى العوامل الجغرافية والاجتماعية التي ساعدت على استمرار بقاء هذا الكيان بسلبياته وإيجابيات تأثيره الاجتماعي والسياسي منذ زمن طويل وحتى الوقت الحاضر. كما تناولت الدراسة الدور السياسي الذي لعبته القبيلة ممثلة برموزها (المشايخ) بالتأثير في تشكيل وتكوين النظام السياسي بأدبيات الماضي وأيديولوجياته الحاضر، وكذا التغيرات السياسية التي شهدها اليمن منذ عام (1962م) وحتى الوقت الحالي، من خلال تواجدها الفعلي في المكون السياسي للدولة وصناعة القرار السياسي من خلال مشاركة رموزها- المشايخ- في مختلف السلطات- التشريعية والتنفيذية- التي تعاقبت في اليمن حتى الوقت الحاضر مشكلة بذلك جانب ضعف في مسار حياته السياسية.
