This study aimed to identify the role of the coach towards upgrading basketball game from the perspective of Eastern clubs players in Saudi Arabia, and the differences in the views of the players to the coach's role depending on the study variables (age, education, years of playing), the sample of the study consisted of (180) Player Eastern clubs, used to identify consisted of 23 paragraph and included three axes (sports training, planning, analysis and calendar), the results of the survey indicated that the basketball coach has a role in improving the game of basketball, and that there were statistically significant differences in the areas coach role Hoop towards upgrading basketball game depending on the study variables, the differences For the age group (28-32), and of the eligible bachelor for many years playing (10 years older). The study recommends the need to educate and instruct local players of the importance of the coach, the role for improving players.

هدفت هذه الدراسة الى التعرف على دور المدرب نحو الارتقاء بلعبة كرة السلة من وجهة نظر لاعبي أندية المنطقة الشرقية في السعودية، والاختلاف في وجهات نظر اللاعبين لدور المدرب تبعا لمتغيرات الدراسة (العمر، المؤهل العلمي، عدد سنوات اللعب)، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (180) لاعبا من أندية المنطقة الشرقية، واستخدمت استبانة تكونت من 23 فقرة، واشتملت على ثلاث محاور (التدريب الرياضي، التخطيط، التحليل والتقويم)، وأشارت نتائج الدراسة الى أن مدرب كرة السلة له دور متوسط في الارتقاء بلعبة كرة السلة، وأن هناك فروقا ذات دلالة احصائية في مجالات دور مدرب كرة السلة نحو الارتقاء بلعبة كرة السلة تبعا لمتغيرات الدراسة، وكانت الفروق لصالح الفئة العمرية (من 28-32)، ولصالح مؤهل البكالوريوس، ولصالح عدد سنوات اللعب (10 سنوات فما فوق). وتوصي الدراسة بضرورة توعية وإرشاد اللاعبين المحليين لأهمية المدرب، والدور الذي يقوم به من أجل تحسين مستوى اللاعبين.
