The aim of this study was to identify the effect of using problem solving method on some of the life skills of the 10th grade students in Al-Quwaismeh Directorate; one of the directorates of the capital Amman. These skills included communication, decision making, problem solving, group work, leadership spirit, taking responsibility, self-confidence, conflict resolution and difference acceptance. The sample consisted of 40 students from both genders. The two groups used the problem solving method. An educational program in teaching the basic skills in volleyball has been used alongside with some life skills under study. The program consisted of eight modules in the problem solving method, which was applied in a weekly session for eight weeks. The researcher used averages, percentages, standard deviations and T test. The results showed statistically significant differences between the pre-measurements and the post ones in favor for the post measurements. The results of the differences between post measurements between students showed statistically significant differences in favor of male students who were taught the life skills under study (communication, decision making, responsibility, self-confidence), and for female students in (the leadership), while showing no statistically significant differences in life skills (problem-solving, teamwork, conflict resolution and accept differences.

هدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف إلى تأثير استخدام أسلوب حل المشكلات على بعض المهارات الحياتية (التواصل، اتخاذ القرار، حل المشكلات، العمل الجماعي، الروح القيادية، تحمل المسؤولية، الثقة بالنفس، حل النزاعات وتقبل الاختلاف) لطلبة الصف العاشر الأساسي بمديرية لواء القويسمة/ محافظة العاصمة، اشتملت العينة على (40) طالبا وطالبة، استخدمت المجموعتان أسلوب حل المشكلات، تم استخدام برنامجا تعليميا في المهارات الأساسية في الكرة الطائرة دمج فيه بعض المهارات الحياتية قيد الدراسة، تكون البرنامج من ثمانية وحدات تعليمية في أسلوب حل المشكلات تم تطبيقها بواقع حصة أسبوعيا وزعت على ثمانية أسابيع، واستخدم الباحث المتوسطات والنسب المئوية والانحرافات المعيارية واختبار (ت)، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين القياسات القبلية والبعدية لصالح القياسات البعدية، وأظهرت النتائج الخاصة بالفروق بين القياسات البعدية بين الطلاب والطالبات إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا لصالح الطلاب في المهارات الحياتية (التواصل، اتخاذ القرار، تحمل المسؤولية، الثقة بالنفس) ولصالح الطالبات في محور (الروح القيادية)، بينما لم تظهر فروق دالة إحصائيا على المهارات الحياتية (حل المشكلات، العمل الجماعي، حل النزاعات وتقبل الاختلاف).
